Welcome to Year 2.

Our Year 2 class are taught by Mr Staley and supported by Mrs Thomas.

In Year 2, we follow the Key Stage 1 curriculum. For our learning topics this half term please see our overview below.

Children in Year 2 are assessed by their teacher as they come to the end of Key Stage 1.  These teacher assessments are based upon the work the children have completed in class and informed by an assessment period in May. This consists of assessments in Reading, GAPS (Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling) and Maths.

Class Routines

 

Reading books

Children should bring their reading books to school everyday so that we can read with your child. Once your child has read their book, they will take a quiz and change their book.  When you have read with your child at home please sign their reading record, so we know they have read.

Homework

Children should engage with TTRockstars on daily basis and complete quizzes on completion of their reading books.

PE

Children should attend school in their PE kits every Monday and Tuesday.
